The elimination of wastes and toxic substances from the body is what a total body cleanse is designed for. While you might feel somewhat uncomfortable from the feelings of detoxification, the result you will get is a boost in energy levels and a healthier body. You can choose to buy a colon cleansing product as many of these products are affective and are readily available on the market. However, you can still go with the do-it-yourself approach. Performing a body cleanse on your own is easy and inexpensive.

Make sure that you take the time to prepare and commit to your cleanse because it can make a big difference in your health, but only if you stick to the program and start eating better foods. The best total body cleanse is the one that you will stick to.

First Step Of Your Total Body Cleansing

First, you must prepare your body for the detoxification by at least a week of healthy diet, that is, no sugar, fatty foods, processed foods, and such. It is advisable to refrain from any dairy products and from red meat for at least a week as well before you begin. These foods usually accumulate in the intestinal tract. Thus, eliminating them beforehand will make the cleansing better for you and will also improve the effects of detoxification greatly.

Take a psyllium husk capsule during the entire duration of your body cleansing. Psyllium is a soluble fiber that has a gentle cleansing effect on the intestinal tract. Moreover, it does not cause a person to be constipated or experience diarrhea. Rather, it makes bowel movement a lot easier. Be sure to read the label for the correct dosage.

Organic Fruits and Vegetables

During the first two days of your body cleansing, be sure to eat only fresh fruits and vegetables. Make sure also that these are all organic. If you want steamed vegetables, however, that would be fine. If you feel that you need more flavor, you may season your food with olive oil, lemon juice, and spices but as much as possible, refrain from using salt or monosodium glutamate.

Detoxify With Raw Foods

During day three, continue with your total body cleanser program while eating only raw foods. Of course, the best foods to eat are still the organic fruits and vegetables as what you want is to eliminate the congestions of chemical and toxins from your body. However, you can look at recipe books or search online for raw food recipes. Just see to it that you strictly follow a purely raw food diet. This is because the vitamin and mineral content of raw foods is very rich and they contain live enzymes which are necessary for the cleansing.

Juice Fast Cleanse

Continue with your 100% raw food diet for six more days, to complete one entire week. On your tenth day, start a juice fast. You must use only fresh and purely organic fruits and/or vegetables to make your juice. For three days, you can drink as much of it as you wish. See to it that you are drinking the juice immediately after making it. A mesh strainer can be used for juicing but it is more recommended that you use a quality juicer since this will remove all of the pulp.

Work Your Way Back To Normal Eating Habits

On your thirteenth day, go back to your raw food diet. You must, however, be slow and careful when eating because you had just come from a juice fast and you digestive system may receive a shock if you suddenly eat raw foods again. Thus, eat slowly and carefully. It is more advisable to 6-7 small meals a day than 3-4 heavy meals. Also, be sure to chew your food slowly and thoroughly, and drink plenty of water. Observe a raw food diet for five days.

On your eighteenth day, you can add back to your diet fruits and vegetables, either fresh or steamed, and resume your regular eating habits on your twenty-second day, complete three whole weeks doing an organic total body cleanse.
